THere was obviously no need for violence given that nothing happened. Though I suppose someone will come in here and try to argue that someone deserves to be shot for approaching strangers (whether the approach was abrasive or not I cannot say). Even if it was abrasive though, people don't deserve to be shot for being abrasive and chances are they were drunk at the time.

They could have been paid promoters for the stampede as well (although I guess that wouldn't preclude them from being drunk).

Even if they were being abrasive, they weren't threatening violence or anything illegal...
