So this new feature of flash totally bones my browser when trying to play flash videos (youtube). The feature tries to use your graphics card or whatever you have on your system to help play the videos rather than just your CPU for a more smooth playback etc... However with my system for some reason (I have integrated intel video) it won't play the video it just stays a black box where teh video should be and I can still hear the sound.

Anyone else having this problem?

1. Try loading the video in a different resolution size (480p, 720p, etc)

2. Try disabling hardware acceleration on the flash applet (right click anywhere in it, Settings, first tab, turn off the checkbox)

3. Try it in a different browser (for example Internet Explorer 9).

4. If all the above fails, then you can also opt to use any of the browser plugins or webpages or software that allows you to download any youtube video to your harddisk so you can play the video using your own preferred player (I use youtube-dl.py script for this).

5. If you have RealPlayer installed, update it. It is known to cause black screen videos in Firefox. (http://support.mozilla.org/...doesnt-load-video-firefox)

6. Uninstall Flash 11.3 and then download and install Flash 10.3 or 11.2. Flash 11.3 is known to crash in Firefox (http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-113-crashes)

Important: If you install Flash 10.3, you will get a player with all known security patches applied but without all of the features of Flash 11.2. If you install Flash 11.2, your player might not have all of the known security updates applied.

had to disable it on my laptop because if i fullscreened i would only get audio with a white screen.
