People are suing utilities for not being fast enough after Sandy? It's Katrina all over again.

Idiots begging the government to protect them.
I am a troll. Everything I say must be assumed to be said solely to provoke an exaggerated reaction to the current topic. I fully intend to bring absolutely no substance to any discussion, ongoing or otherwise. Conversing with me is pointless.

no evasive action? what were they supposed to do? pick up the city and move it 50 miles inland? grab a bunch of floor jack and raise it 100 feet into the air? do people actually know that life has no guarantees?

The sad part is power was out working on their lines within hours. I was abused at how fast it was. Alabama Power was here working within like 12

At least here you can only sue if you can prove that

1) There is a duty of care (per law)
2) Government knew about the potential for a problem that could reasonably occur and didn't put forth reasonable effort to try to fix it
3) the damages were a direct cause of the inaction

And my former employer successfully sued a government under the above so yes it's totally possible.

People want to not pay taxes so things can't be maintained at as high a level and then they want to sue the government because they aren't?
:P
