For running a successful farmer set on the Primary server?

In other words, how do I prevent from becoming a landfarm?

1. Have 2 strong D allies
2. Have a country that doesn't look like new player (has decent SPAL, has good jet/turret ratio, has good BPT, not a rainbow)
3. Always stay above half the NW of the rank 1 guy
4. Maintain over 200% Agri, even if it means not grabbing land for the day - last reset, this was easy, this reset a bit harder.
5. Be of a government type that compliments playing a farmer (Demo, Fascist), though this isn't a requirement, its just less efficient otherwise.
6. Do not look land fat in the SCORES page. This is important.
7. Grab for your land, don't batch explore past 2k or 3k land. Join GDI and don't attack anyone more than once. This allows you to grow faster, because the turns are being spent more efficiently (less turns to gain same amount of land).

But really, the key to not becoming landfarm is to grow and show capability in retalling. This applies to all strategies.

Farmer's weakness is in the low food price for te entirety of the first month, so to compensate, you need high Agricultural tech.

the truth is that if you ever fall below 50% of the NW of the top 10 you are probably gonna be farmed.

You can explore out to 3800 land if you want.

Learn how to stock and destock properly.. don't go too early

Im all-x with 100% def. and get top 30.. I screwed up my destock last set too. I wouldn't have gotten top 10 but still would have been a nice country.

If you'd grabbed a few times it'd be even nicer.

I'm taking that walk with you, vettiv. Always play techer, and wanted to play a different strat this time. I began this set a day late and just jumped right in without a clear plan and am paying for it now. Can't sell enough food to buy tech and military. Need both.

I will do a tech start up next time and use a more flexible country type.

Do me a favor and explore for more land so they will focus on you and not me! :0

This reset is a double whammy though, food price is low AND tech price is high. This stunts growth of all farmers pretty much, and as a consequence, food price will be phenomenal later on in the reset due to the small farmer land sizes.

The amount of agri tech being bought daily seems very low compared to even last set which was a good set for farmers. Not sure if that is b/c farmers just can't afford tech or what

I'm seeing farmers buying jets to retal - probably the reason why Agri tech is low priced.
