Have anybody tried some of the these tablets?

for what are you gonna use it?

get a Windows Phone, xbox live account and Logic Games, so you can teach me to play chess and help me get my multiplayer achievement points for that silly game.

for what do you need those points?

to complete the game. Logic Games also has Sudoku and Minesweeper. tiz fun playing Minesweeper on the bus. goid thing they aren't live mines though. it'd be a short bus trip.

Been burned on cheap tablets before. Maybe the new Nexus 7 instead?

Although the "500MP Camera" seems pretty legit. ;p

It is for the kids to play games, they keep stealing my iPad :)

iPad Mini is probably still a better choice. More and better apps. Unless you really want the better camera, but nobody takes photographs with tablets.

this reminds me that i should attempt to find a practical use for my Inspiron Duo. maybe if i install Win XP Pro on my Mini and use the Duo as an RDP client.

they older model is better for gaming, the newer is the first to broadcast netfilx at 1080 on a tablet.

also, android has 1million apps now and all the popular apps are now on both platforms, so its the option of opensource and freedom, or closed source.

Don't give resolution but both ips retina so should be the same.

That really depends on who is using the tablet then. Techno-savvy people who like to get their hands dirty and know how to install theit own boot ROM and stuff might like the far more flexibility that the android offers, but old grandmothers who have no idea how computers work might prefer Apple devices with their "one-click OS and app auto updating" and easier to pick up interface.

By the way, if anyone really wants to browse their Apple devices on a "Windows Explorer"-like program or interface, and/or hate iTunes, just get iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/) NOTE this is not Internet Explorer. It's a utility that allows you to view your iDevice like a harddisk, and access read/write to any app's files and document's folders (even if the device is not jailbroken), copy music, backup SMS, emails, etc. If the Apple device is also jailbroken, then iExplorer can further read/write into the device's real root folder.

There are 4 iPads.

iPad1 - The original
iPad2 - They doubled the memory, made it weigh lighter, runs faster.
iPad3 - Retina. They doubled the memory again, and x4 the number of pixels (x2 width and x2 height), and it also runs faster, but is slightly heavier than the iPad2.
iPad Mini - The latest product, is basically just a miniaturized iPad2, and functions like an iPad2, same resolution as an iPad2, but a smaller physical size (meaning, more pixels per square inch, and a lot thinner and lighter). It even reports itself as an iPad2 to the OS.

it's kinda like shopping for Nook books. i do a search for Andre Norton books, end up with 300 results and 200 of them are for the same free book i can get off of The Gutenberg Project for free.

nexus 7 is the only option for android tablets.

It looks like he wants the cheapest thing on the market, especially ones that come with "500 MP cameras" so the only option is either that crap he posted in the link or the new Nexus 7. It should be out by now and it's really good value for money.

Probably the cheapest thing is fine, if he's not using it for himself. Unless I'm reading it wrongly, he already owns an iPad anyway.

I have a bunch of Android tablets (I'm in the industry).

I like Samsung's tablets as well as the Nexus variety. I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Tab II 10.1 and a Dell Latitude 10 (running Windows 8). The Samsung Android tablet is SO SO SO SO SO much better than the Dell. Dell's hardware looks fine, but Windows 8 and/or Dell's implementation of it on this tablet drives me crazy. Nothing is intuitive... nothing!!!

If size isnt to much an issue, the asus aio is a good option. Android, and windows 8. But i think its like 15inch or 17inch. But its a tablet as android and full pc that has decent specs when the tablet is docked.

Think a 7" is to small

I had a samsung galaxy tab 2 10.1 - and the kids said it was fine, I have since looked at a samsung MeMO smart 301T - is that like a tab 2 but with better hardware?
Only thing is that the resolution is only 1280 * 800 (143ppi), but that is almost the same as iPad 2 (1024 * 768 - 139 ppi)...

I'm a little up off by the freelander - they don't have a webpage, troublesome RMA and stuff - and there is only 2 posts on the internet about it, and they all complain about poor wifi - all opsts are from may - april, so either nobody have bought any since or the company is dead or everything send out after april is working fine!
