Hey guys.. I'm doing a commie indy build and it's been a while since I last played. I was just wondering if anyone had some general advice as to what percentages to shoot for with the various techs and how soon/what order to get them in? Obviously industrial production first, but what percentage is a good number to shoot for? And which techs should I go for next and what are good benchmark percentages to shoot for?

140% (or more) is good while you are growing and grabbing, 155% when you have finally reached the point you are going to cash out the remainder of the reset.

busi and resi help as does military tech, if you are gonna grab then weapon and mil strat tech too.

if you are grabbing heavily I would spend your money on mil strat and weapons before bus/res. At some point you will need the bus/res but when prices are high in the first month you should maximize your unit sales and land growth.

does anybody ever build a chunk of research labs to increase industrial tech? also... I am noticing that spy is quite high on my expenses, anyway of curbing this expense?

Never build labs to increase your Indy tech. You should be selling units to buy tech.

You can sell excess spies to your private market (under Purchases section).

if you get 300-1k tech per turn that's not much and if you had built that land as indies then you would be able to buy same amount of tech multiple times after selling military.

you could always start as indy and then switch to techer
