Storms End has less than 12k land rofl. Top feeders should look at the news of the people they're topfeeding and learn how to gain land like they do instead of trying to leech off them. Storms End makes 1300 land off that top feed, every top player is making that daily, and that's WITHOUT having to rebuild 1000-2000 acres or losing turrets.

Guess it would make sense that a lot of ppl were tempted to play it with the new changes they introduced.

I more interested about how at this point all top 10s will probably be casher of some variety at the end. and maybe just 2 commies at 9th and 10th. What a great variety this would be.

Judging from the slower growth rates of countries this reset due to the building costs, it seems like the top countries will not be exceeding 50k-60k land by much, if at all.

Since I am predicting land sizes to be about 30% lower for the top countries, I'm also guessing the Top 10 NW cutoff to probably be about 70-80m NW.

Wow being a techer in grabbing phase is hard now. After building up my grabs I have $0 left to buy any military. I'm having to scale back the # of hits I make each day.

Tech is just awful this set for you techers. Playing my turns last night I'm buying tech under 1750 already on multiple techs. There is no way I should be doing that now at this stage of the set.

It appears that at this point cashier and commie were the government of choice. However I do still feel bushells will skyrocket this set and big farmers will have a chance.

The growth up till now is roughly the same blid. It's the growth from this point onwards that is going to be slower because the increased construction costs is really starting to kick in now past about 20k-25k land.

Instead of gaining 2k land per day (or 2.5k even) last reset from 30k acres onwards, I am predicting only 1.5k land growth per day, which leads me to think land sizes won't exceed 60k by much this reset.

Roughly the same? I believe we are a day behind last set so:
Finish 5/30 15:45 - 28,693 acres, 9,611,148 networth
Rob 3/29 3:54 - 24,020 acres, 8,842,962

Herbs keeping pace as well. The big Dem casher had the same land as Finish before the top feed. That's a pretty big edge at this point imo.

I'm attributing this again to the fact that land up to 4200a is cheaper to build so the smaller countries (below 7k land) can grow much faster, and bottomfeeding has pretty much been hitting these "larger" countries, so the initial growth until 30k land is slightly faster.

I fully expect growth to slow down significantly after this point.

In response to blid: I don't mean to offend anyone, but I think the calibre of commie players last set was a decent bit higher then this set. I mean grimstad is almost on another level, so it's hard to compare to him.

I do feel behind a normal optimal pace doing only these 3 500-600 acre grabs a day right now. But it's all that can be afforded with building costs and keeping up with techs.

I think expenses HAS to be better than building cost for commies. You don't have a choice as an indy but to take tons of turns at high networth levels. Without expense bonus it would be suicide.

I'm not so sure. Expenses are also somewhat quadratic, since over 40M there is a multiplier on expenses. So if the "high" NW turns taken are at 70M NW not 100M NW, that's a big difference. Really I should just make some assumptions and do the math. But my gut is saying building cost might be worth it.

I actually was a bit of a believer that building cost, or a few bonuses of building cost early set were worth it even before the changes. The main reason being money saved early set>> money saved last 2 weeks of set, and expenses really doesn't save all that much money til the last 2 weeks.

Or maybe corruption to avoid a month of stockpiling???
