Chevs I had ~6M turrets the first time he grabbed me and around 9M the 2nd time. I don't think Ektar meant that I was an 8M break...because based on his 8% jets lost in the PS he sent 9.95M the first time and 11.3M the 2nd.

I don't feel entitled to not being RORed I'm just entitled to a FS if someone breaks GDI on me. That's just the game mechanics. And if you are trying to finish as high as possible then giving someone of similar NW to you the opportunity at an FS isn't typically going to work out in your favor. And maybe in this situation the FS wasn't that valuable because I had to take a couple days to war prep. We shall see.

Regarding who wins a war...I don't have a good answer there. Nobody is going to record a kill in primary. In my opinion both sides lose. But I imagine the best metric is ending NW.

You’re a better player than I. You would have finished with a higher NW regardless of whether we netted or warred. I think the gap will be smaller this way than the other. I have zero issues with admitting someone is better at this game than I am. A lot of people likely are. And I’m ok with that. I try to get a little enjoyment out of it here & there when life permits. But I’ve never claimed to be good, let alone better than anyone else. I think a lot of people here get hung up on that.

Tertius retalled me last set for like 3k acres 50 days after a DH and expected me not to RoR too then cried after I grabbed him 5x and forced him to war.

1:1 Is not "entitlement", it's expected, it's always been that way, 90% of us will go to war over a RoR, it's also expected, not an entitlement just like when we break GDI, we aren't entitled to it, we take a calculated risk and if that calculated risk fails we expect retaliation at the discretion of who we break GDI with, don't call everything you see an entitlement, that's far from the reality.

No, in this case he actually grabbed me twice before the first retal. After his first grab I took another day of bottom feeding and then added turrets. I tried not to jump too much NW so I could stay within humanitarian range of a few targets. When I retaled I noticed he hadn't built any of the land he took from me. So I basically knew at that time that this was going to be a war. But even then instead of war prepping after my retal I built the land and spent $ on bus/res tech. That's why it took a few days of waiting to fill up my turns storage for me to take the FS.

I don't think I could have won without taking the retal. If we had left it at that I probably would have been neck and neck with the top 2. Gestapo probably has a 80% chance of winning now with Deus Ex Machina the remaining 20%.

Then when I saw the warefare stockpiling I determined the best plan at that point was to take what little money I had(since my units weren’t selling) to buy sdi vs building the vacant land and then dropping the vacant land to maximize the sdi.

Very logical move at that point, as far as I’m concerned.

I always hold out hope that people will accept their retals, so we can get to the destock phase but it's a war game (in primary at least), so people can do as they wish. That said, it's a pattern for Ektar and Chevs where they'd rather ruin someone else's finish once they're bored or have other things in life. Ektar has used that excuse that someone was growing and looked menacing to multitap people in the past, when really he just starts a war and then runs off to his "real life" leaving our virtual lives a shamble like the large, sensitive man that he is (apparently). Chevs just outright lies and says "oops, I didn't mean to hit you twice, go ahead and take the second retal" just so he can break GDI and go to war. Nothing against it in the rules, but most people are going to drag you on the forums for being the non-skilled losers (in virtual life) that you are =Þ

Obviously, we (I kind of speak for AndrewMose and other netters, but mostly myself) have played this game long enough that it's only a minor setback, and most of my comments here are flippant, but being a rep (or even a demo) in primary is like a 50/50 chance you get griefed by someone who has little to gain and doesn't even plan on finishing out their set. So while it's a game, it's akin to someone flipping the board or taking their ball and going home, and it removes a lot of the fun.

TBH buying warfare at this stage in the game is pretty useless and a big waste of money, you're not going to make enough missiles to do any significant damage, you're way better off buying jets or tanks.
