I consider that pretty good for an all explore while not knowing how to start, or de stock and having a defensive ally at war all set.

I am thinking farmer/oiler all explore next set. Playing the market should be interesting.

This set I did not make a tech start. Next set I will, I found getting the tech I wanted at a price I wanted was too difficult not to build labs early in the set.

But a farmer is winning this set, and oil prices were even more efficient than food! Not that I calculated it, but...

Problem is moving volume. I stopped building rigs at 10k and the 1.6m barrels I was producing each day wouldn't all sell at the high prices so I ended up with a ton of excess oii every few days so I'd have to sell it much lower.

97.5M is my score o_o short of my 100M goal

I guess Grimstad didn't destock the best possible way. If I were him, I would have sold food everyday while it was above $45, and just held the cash on hand (and eat corruption losses).

Just to put this meaningless tidbit in perspective, I finished 22nd at 27m networth. One round ago, the person at 22nd was 50m, practically double that. Same with the set before.

Oh and not to take away from my allies early game (blid and crest) they got attacked about 20 times, hahaha :( I was losing more units than I could cash in a day.

But after the early game crest was pretty solid and blid went on to do his warring business

Of more interesting note is that euglaf went Construction Costs bonus, while I went Expenses bonus. We finished within 3m of each other.

euglaf did not get attacked/retalled, while I was hit by Gogy once, which would easily justify the 3m difference.

Gogy hit the #2 and #6 finisher, and he finished 28th. Good old Gogy. Of note, I converted from a commie start to a farmer, but I hadn't planned it, so I didn't have construction costs bonus. Anyway, I was bigger than all other farmers in land after my conversion (I was fat) and got hit by, you guessed it, Gogy and RussianRoulette. That was the beginning of the end for me. If not for those two I wonder if the conversion might have worked. If I hadn't converted I could've cruised into the top ten somewhere. This is the first time a commie has won since like 20 months ago when oldman also won.

I FINISHED with more farms. I was like 3k farms and then went only rigs until I had 10k rigs. After taking a bunch of missiles and bomb structures I didn't bother rebuilding my rigs.

So really I was 2 week techer, then oiler, then hybrid, then farmer.

I warred a few times and wasted alot of NW, then missed an entire week of turns and land middle of October. I didn't have alot of free time to play and still had 40 stored turns left at the end. I'm surprised I still squeaked out 40 mil.....pitiful. lol

I coulda sworn h2o's profile was public in the past..

Also blid, I didn't do anything against the rules so I don't know why you'd lump me in with h2o.
