There was a case where a farm reindeer was sent to another country and infected a reindeer herd. Can't remember where off top of my head. If I remember right they stopped the spread by killing the whole herd and quarantined the entire area for several years till prion where not detected any longer. I wanna say switzerland but can't guarantee that is correct.

Yeah there's a big maybe this disease has always affected cervids like "EHD" and we just didn't know about till the 60s after the scrappie thing. That is a high possibility. No one can pinpoint a time frame just a highly believed theory.

TL:DR Plants grown on soil where a CWD deer has been buried, fed to other animals can transmit the disease to those animals. Since the prions have been observed to somehow replicate in the infected animals and they have been shown to resist degradation by natural processes including a resistance to known proteases, it is entirely possible that there is a progressively accumulating number of prions in the environment.

The takeaway here other than the obvious "we are doomed", is that vegans are not safe either, and our food still fluff on their food.

Ta da yep it's has also been found the been found in wheat and other cereal grAins. It can't be killed my heat or chemicals as it's not a virus not bacteria. It is it's own class and is doesn't have a shelf life. They said in can last in soil and infect animals for years.

Sad part it believed the disease was accidentally given to deer through a deer study in wisconsin. They did a study on sheep with scrappie after putting those animals down they brung deer into the same study area not knowing it was tranmissable to deer. They released all the deer after their study not knowing they were infected and the danger they had just let out.

The problem with cwd it's passed through saliva, urine and fecal matter. While the bulk of prions are yes in the nervous systems it is also in the muscle meats. Cwd currently only effects cervids with one exception. A study has shown it jump to monkeys. The prion protein is folded differently from mad cow and can't attach to human that's why "considered" safe but suggested not to eat the meat.

Biggest issue with cwd is the fact the prion can attach to plants and soil and infect animals that way. So say a cwd deer goes into a bean field and begins to eat and of course pee and crap through out the field it's spreading prion to the plants and soil where it can survive for months. Farmer comes in 2 month later and harvest the beans which are then cooked and canned and sold to humans with prions that are still active possibly def something like fresh produce. This is what I mean we are screwed if it becomes tranmissable to humans. All cervids would pretty have to be wiped out so deer, moose, elk, and a few others.

Yeah I'd agree with everyone. Join a tag or create a solo tag for yourself. That way it shows up. Other thing you can do is make a name "not a bot dnh" or something like that.

Ahhh good ole cwd. Look it up lot of research done on it. If it ever is able to infect humans we are all fluffed not just those of us that eat deer. It's similar to mad cow but currently humans aren't vulnerable to it .

Wish they would pass a constitutional carry here. We can open carry with out a license but to conceal you have to pay 90 bucks every three years I think it is. Only good thing is if you have one no back ground checks when purchasing a gun. Show em that license and just fill out your paperwork and you are good to go.

Pretty good idea actually for alliance by the time everything is figured out season changes and everything is up in the air again. Only once a year too so not to overload code writers and such.

Also need to still add the all button to fa screen to make it a little faster to send hahaha

Yeah between covid and riots that drove the market extremely quickly and we already knew the election would as well. Ammo wasn't considered essential from my understanding so you shut down ammo makers during and already hyper buying period you get that gap that almost impossible to come back from.

Have thought about learning to reload myself esp shotgun loads with tungsten for waterfowl. Read up guys can make loads for around a dollar a piece. here a box cost something like 45 or more bucks

Have you tried cheaper than dirt? May find some on there probably a little more than you want to pay but atleast you could get the chance to break in the slide. Also if you a have local hunting page maybe able to get some from people there trade or buy.

Covid set ammo makers back a lot then with the remington law suit followed by bankruptcy that shut down the biggest ammo manufacturing facility in the US. Tie those two things into a hyper inflated inflated market and we know why there's a huge shortage. Wish I had stock in federal and hornady right now haha

Man ammo has been short in rifle and pistol ammo since last Sept it's reached shotgun shells too now. Of course the common stuff went first 3006 308 7.62x39 556 270 9mm 380 40 and 45. Then odd balls went 300wm 7mm08 357mags and everything else in December. Come January all shotgun shells I do mean all from slugs to steel shot. I know that guys buy ammo in cals they don't have just to sell or trade and that's ridiculous.

Everyone knows the russia investigation was a put on and the dossier was a sham. On the other hand the bulk of american people lost a lot of faith in the fbi.
