It's become fairly obvious that this server is a great refuge for suiciders who think it's fun to AB a country for a grab or two because they don't have the tact or common decency to just try to retal, knowing full well they can hide behind a new name 2-3 days later. I've always been one to say 'to each his own', but this has just gone too far. It has come to the point of driving players out of the game, and has caused fewer and fewer experience players to take interest in the server itself.

I for one, LOVE playing Express. It's a great place to test out strat variations for me, if you screw up you're only 2-3 days from a fresh start, and there are no tags which makes grabbing possible here.

Efforts are being made on the admin level to stop these problems, however it appears to me that player intervention is necessary as well. I understand that some people are just naturally devoid of tact, and need regulatory systems to force them to not be a douche bag at the drop of a hat, but that doesn't mean those people should be tolerated, or made exceptions for, in a functional community. I won't let this server be forced into another all-x server by the few that can't control their selfish instincts

As of the end of the April 8th-12th set, I will be running strictly war countries in EE - all with the sole aim of finding and killing suiciders. If someone grabs you, and you turn around and AB them 50x, you will sign into a dead country. If you missile the hell out of a top 10 country, you will sign into a dead country. If you RoR, or just farm the crap out of smaller countries, you will sign into a dead country. Basically, if you don't show a little bit of maturity and understanding towards the fact that your actions have consequences to yourself and others.....well, I'll just impose the consequences for them so that hopefully they can go back to playing the game the way it's meant to be played.

Now this is not to say I'm out to kill every person who does something not nice, far from it actually. Some level of that is necessary in this game, and quite frankly I'm all for it. However, if you cross the line between playing the game and just trying to ruin someone else's chance to do the same, that's where I come in. I've tested out the formulas for solo killing here pretty well, and believe me it's not a problem.

Anyone interested in joining the fun is welcome to help out, just hit me up and we'll go from there.

Well, to attempt re-attempt posting on topic...

Imo, the primary reason to legalize mj is financial. From the gov't point of view, they can redirect millions of dollars that are currently being spent on keeping mj out of the country to other more 'severe' drugs (I know some of you don't share that opinion, but let's face it mj is one of the weaker drugs out there). Additionally, they'd be adding tens, if not hundreds, of millions of dollars worth of taxes into the economy (at a time when that would be most helpful)

Of course, enforcement of regulations will provide some expense, but from my experience it won't be anywhere near what is currently being spent.

you can button mash on it in Chrome and it'll keep up....works pretty well for me, although I dunno if there's an even faster method or not. I solo killed a country in Express the other day in 1:42 though, so it's fast enough...

Sorry Hellrush, if you sign a LDP w/ a clan, you've given them lots of wiggle room to do exactly what happened to you. Despie's smart too, I bet you he got some gravy terms outta ya :-)

I don't care who owned it, it doesn't change who manufactured it, TU-154's are Russian built planes. I'm just sayin those things are downright scary to fly in, but are pretty standard for the region.

If you've ever flown on Russian airlines, you'll know that something like this is not only less than surprising....it's almost commonplace. The TU-154 is something along the lines of flying in a 1960's freight plane. I had the "pleasure" of flying from Minsk to Moscow once on a TU-154 once - I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to be able to see bolts wiggling around in flight....

Oh, I should add, now that it appears I've gotten my top 10 netting set, I'm also willing to apply that philosophy to the commies out there who think it's cool to grab slower strats 5+ times because they're not capable of retalling quite yet. #50 you got lucky this set.....

Pretty much what Pang said...

You can accept other clan's retal policies or not, posted or unposted, that's up to you. But if you want a peaceful set, I'd probably pact them instead of waiting around hoping they'll post them for you, as their policies have never been contrary to what the server dictates.

So far as server standard...well, you put yourself in that ship. So long as you hadn't clarified that you'd moved away from cross-retalling, you would have continued to have problems with suiciders (that kill instead of suiciding).

I think a great deterrent to suiciders would be having to keep the same name every set instead of being able to hide behind a new name 5 days later. They're all real brave when they can get a 200-250 turn jump on a netter and AB a netting build into oblivion, but if they had to reckon with that person coming back the next set with a fully prepped war country knowing who they are things might change a bit....

I don't know if I like the bonus idea, simple because it would push players towards specific strats and further strain an already thin market.

I'm gonna do my own thing as well to change the server after this set - vigilante justice. I'll be running a Tyr/Farmer/Missiler for the next couple sets, and anytime I see someone suicide, I'll just stock up turns and kill their country...tried it last set just to see how it'd go, and I was pretty pleased w/ the results (sorry to my innocent victim, but you shouldn't put the fact that you're willing to suicide in your name if you don't wanna get messed with).

There's so few techers this set, they could easily be holding prices @ $6 for agr/bus/res, but no some noob wants to come back in 20 min and tech 5 more turns and sell his tech so he can do it again.

I actually agree w/ AoS. I blame the system that put the pilots in that situation more than the pilots themselves.

CrazySerb, take your pick... nuclear weapons, terrorism, oil, human rights abuses, genocide, evil dictators, homeland security, defensive buffer from Communist/Islamic countries, stabilizing the region....they've all been thrown out there as justifications.

"Because the ROOT cause of the conflict has nothing to do with that history. It has to do with fabricated/false/faulty evidence against Iraq."

You sir, are living in la-la land. Have you looked at the definition of the word ROOT in the dictionary lately? This conflict has been building on itself for the last 40 years....and what is going on today is a direct result of actions taken 10, 20, 30, even 40 years ago. If you don't see that, you're obviously not bothering to look at the whole picture....although that wouldn't be anything new, I guess.

We're talking battles that have been going on since, and are rooted in, the Cold War here....not something that all of a sudden popped up 9 years ago. Or are we writing off the prior conflicts between the same groups in the region as utterly unrelated because they don't fit your viewpoint?

Would be nice if AB could destroy like %5 of CS or something like that. Xelah is right that it could use some revamping to make it more worthwhile.

I agree that it would be kinda nice if AB's could kill - say when all buildings were destroyed. It would add a new dimension to war, and make things more competitive on breaking larger countries.

Another fix to the destroyed CS problem that would mean a bit more work would be to add a "capacity" variable that calculates on a % scale and diminishes after AB's at a rate of say (Capacity*.98)/AB. For example, if you have 100 farms, and get AB'ed 10x, your capacity % goes down to %81 (1.0*.98*.98,etc)and your food production/bpt/pci drops by %19, with a lower limit of say %30 to avoid hitting %0 (unless you want to make it a killing attack). Capacity could be restored by running turns, and replenishes at a set rate (%2/turn? Maybe less?). This way, AB's pay off a bit more, but the recipient still has a chance to recover and fight back. This would also allow for a new tech for increasing production (non-indy) capacity. It could also lead to new gov't bonuses/penalties - Commie +%10 capacity, Rep -%10 capacity, etc...
