i made a thread on this, somewhere in the b&s forum, and i'm sure there's a few more threads floating around with lots of good ideas that really don't give much of an advantage.

Patrons bonuses are automatically collected.

Logging into your account and being able to see your country's news without actually entering your country would also be an awesome boon for being a patron.

Sucks to miss out on the 12 or 18 hour bonus prematurely just to see what the eff happened, or what sold and what didn't.

That's a good idea TAN. Sometimes I just want to login to see what's going on but don't want to lose out on the bonus.

Modifiable text alerts would be nice, based on what you want them to tell you. If certain goods reach a desired price, if you're being attacked, if your stuff sold, if your tag received X amount of hits in a certain timeframe etc. All of which you could disable or enable individually.

Being able to have your own personalized, uploaded avatar would be nice as well. It would be more noticeable than Patron and may encourage others to do so as well.

Allow a master account in FFA for the first x amount of turns. Starting up is so god awful that a lot of people avoid the server/create less countries because of it.

why not let premium users either get bonus turns automatically or simpler or not have such a hassle with 24+alittlebit time rotating

Just give me all the bonus points without having to click on all four of those links and I will get the Patron thing.

Isn't whole point of the bonuses to get high on the ranking list and thus bring in new players? This would totally defeat that purpose so I don't see them even considering that idea.

The bonuses have to be attractive to new players,and have a wow effect, while not alienating he older core and having some sort of unfair advantage.

Since I only play 1a, I'll post what I've liked:

Bonus Points are accumilated daily without having to click promotions.
Automatic Country restart after dying, with a preset name option in the old country.
Patrons only able to use vacation mode.
A bunch of insignificant stuff that will look cool to new people, like +50 acreas daily bonus, a bonus turn a day.


Patron Board is nice (maybe forum names in bold), The master conrol over all servers seem nice too. I think the biggest advantages should be on the solo servers as it is the far easiest server to attract new players, some good suggestes have been posted.

Maybe give the option to Patrons to have different forum skins and have a gold earth background instead of the current red.

lol, keep this as the default, I like the simple feel, but some new kids might like alternatives.

Also unrelated, perhaps the admins could interview alliance leaders/notable players and post the interview on the forum every so often, dunno if you can link that with the patron ideas.

fluff, it's 10AM and all I want to do now is eat thai food...

I would maybe pay some amount to halt a kill run on me temporarily.. like after 50 hits against my country in a less than ten minute window it becomes is locked from further attacks against it for ten minutes, with the effect only kicking in once a day.

Patron status should also include pictures of Detmer in a bikini, a la Samoan.

Um how about these:

1)Attack Sim on spy ops page that auto-populates. Again more useful for individual servers and basically for convenience.

2)It be cool to be able to submit attacks in bunches like spyops so you could due up to ten attacks at one time without all the clicking or having to hit F% like a mad man.

Wouldnt add an advantage, just save time and avoid silly calculator mistakes.

50% boost ability that is only unlockable for Patrons... so if you use the ability you make more cash, and Food per turn for said amount of turns.. and oil... for the oilers out there.

No patron board. There's a forum on DeviantArt specifically for paying members, and it's the gayest thing since Freddie Mercury.

Lifetime Patron status for all mods and ex-mods. :p Unless they were summarily dismissed for cause. Then they should get a special status that does not allow them to post at all. lol

Pat's gonna end up getting the "not-so-Patron" status :-P
