just trying to figure out exactly how that pop bonus helps.. I have a few ent heavy which worked well due to pop cap.. started buying tech and ent seems to definitely trump res at this point in time

I've tried a theo casher in FFA and I was running rep cashers at the same time, and once you get fatter the Rep. PCI bonus makes it just too much better..

ZDH: It's new. The development team added a population bonus for Theo that makes it a decent strat.

On the bigger clan based servers where there's more opportunity to get big fat countries, rep-casher will smoke it every time, but on the solo servers, like express (as ford brought up), it's at least competitive against rep-casher.

Does require more food though, since you've got 50% more population.

I just ran a theo casher in express and did decent with it but the lack of tech I think would make a big difference in a long server.

and technically *if* I switched to rep still making out with a +6% pop bonus and only 6% deduction to PCI... plus the explore rate bonus will be big help towards the end I suppose =/

If you're running any rep cashers as well, I'd be curious to see how those two compare to each other by set's end.

My rep netter strat is superior to any theo casher strat!

I won alliance with a theo casher.

It is a very strong strat at the beginning because of the +50% population bonus, make sure you use that to grab like mad - else, you're better off with a rep casher.

That makes sense. Use it to get out in front of everyone and grab to stay ahead.

I think it'd be rough to keep yourself with enough military and still keep expenses down, but if you won alliance with one, apparently you pulled it off.

on express i have played fasc/oiler, great start to get out front. But i always end up losing ground. Also part of the problem, you have to play turns like every 8 hours, or you get too far behind, and greater chance to be hit.

theo casher is actually way stronger in games like express/tourney where there are less turns, or even primary... I doubt it will be that useful in FFA due to the grabbing environment here.
