That is, as soon as my PC stops being a fluffwad and starts working....

Motherfluff. Figures I finally choose to play a game that's not browser based, and my PC is taking a huge dump on me two days from release. Bah.

I'm sucking it up and dropping my foolish reasons for not having played this franchise. Send me a PM with your details and maybe we'll run into one another sometime.

Oh, and I'm likely to be playing a Wizard as well. Flavor Of The Month, maybe, but what can i say? I love tossing fireballs.

I will never play Diablo.... for purely petty reasons ;p

Back in 1996, when Diablo I was being hyped up, they released a downloadable demo. It was approximately 50MB, and I was still on my 28.8kbps. Many of you may remember the fragility of internet connections back in those days of dialup, and how massive 50MB was. In preparation for this ridiculous task, I thoroughly cleaned my PC, hoping to ensure it's stability for the days it would take to download.

So, after much preparation, I begin the download. I was afraid to touch the PC, in fear of it crashing and wasting the time spent. After an entire weekend, I've finally downloaded the 50MB, and rejoice.

I reboot the computer, install the demo, and ran the game. I was terribly unimpressed for the amount of work and anticipation I had put in. I proceeded to curse at my PC, and have never played a Diablo game since.

That story sounds like fluff after reading it again ;p

I think the general problem with intra-alliance landtrading is that they've got simpler access to break information, saving themselves many turns, as well as coordination, since they're all in one place.

Other political reasons include the fact that you could essentially pact out, and landtrade in your own bubble... which is something I know many alliances will not accept. Some people may say "hey, if you cant beat em, join em." The problem with that is that if everyone adopted this idea, we'd inevitably end up with most, if not all, tags either trading within their own ranks, providing no interaction between alliances(and removing one of the most valid reasons for war), and probably generate a bunch more untagged suiciders.

This game doesn't need less interaction between tags- if anything we need more. That being said, though, I feel as though you keep the douchebaggery to a minimum with your "grabbing agreements" or what-have-you, it is perfectly acceptable, and has the capacity to generate significant amounts of goodwill between tags.

That is, as long as there's a clearly defined, server-accepted definition as to what "abusive land trading" is. Anyone else remember the outcome of one of the last landtrading threads? Nothing. We need to work on that. For me, it would be having more than one exchange of hits within a 24 hour period- anything more than that and you'd have to handle standard ROR escalation.

However, at the time, if the pitcher was on roids, and the batter was on roids, and the centre fielder that he hit to was on roids, was there really anything unethical going on? Sure, it make it easier to do more than you could have done in the past, but did it make the game easier? No. The reason it wasn't easier is because your opponents were also afforded the same "advantage."

Trolling a bit here, but the advantage still exists in some degree when you factor that more hits could be home runs, in which case the roid-raging centerfielder is irrelevant ;p

Ladies and gentlemen, I understand that recent events have been wildly important to (most?) everyone, myself included. The development staff have publically stated on more than one occasion that they're doing everything in their power to ensure that the integrity of the game has been restored.

With that in mind, please don't start trash-talking our developers. Without their dedication to the community, we would only be reminiscing about this game, rather than playing it. They've sacrificed countless hours of their own free time over the last few years to ensure that our community can remain together, allies and enemies alike. They've never asked for anything more than your appreciation in return, and it seems that's still too much to ask for some.

Yeah, this isn't a bug.

The number you have available on the market page is just that: All jets currently not PSed away.

The number for sale is still the same: 1/3rd of ALL jets, out on PS or not.

If you have sent 2/3 or more of your jets (troops and tanks, too, for that matter) out on PSes, then the two numbers will be the same.

You know... Granted, I would never claim to have read every post on these boards, but I don't recall ever seeing someone suggesting a change to the explore rates. Say you keep the rates as they are at the lower-acreages, but slow the pace at which you drop off to near-inexistant gains per turn.

On the surface, I kinda like that idea. It doesn't solve the issues presented here, that much is certain. It would, however, allow all-ex players to better compete. Just by making all-ex stronger, you may have people who would otherwise be bottomfeeding reconsider, and continue hitting the explore button instead.

trife, in addition to your argument, this also suggests that we will in no way currtail our energy usage per person, which is already very obviously occurring, given that we're implementing more energy-efficient everything, as well as more efficient methods to produce said energy.
